Rates fall into four bands. Sensor size and autofocus generation do most of the work. A flagship sports body costs seven times an entry combo. For most jobs, the mid-range body is the right call.

What actually moves camera rental prices in Bangalore?

Four things account for most of the variation. Understanding them saves more money than haggling.

Sensor and autofocus generation

Full-frame bodies cost more than APS-C. Newer autofocus processors carry a premium. The Canon EOS R6 is ₹2,000. The R6 Mark II is ₹2,500. That ₹500 buys a newer AF engine. It matters at a wedding. It doesn't matter at a static product shoot.

Body-only versus combo

Only three of our eighteen bodies ship with glass. If you don't own lenses, an ₹800 R100 combo is genuinely ₹800. An ₹1,800 body-only booking still needs a lens from somewhere. Total the full day before you decide.

How many days you book

Rates above are per 24 hours. Longer bookings are quoted on request. Send us the full span — don't extend day by day.

When you book

Availability — not price — changes with the season. From November through February, Saturday stock on popular bodies goes by mid-week. Book early. The rate stays the same; the camera does not.

What's included in the camera rental price, and what isn't

Rental rates cover the equipment. Consumables and logistics sit outside.

  • Included: the body, its battery and charger, and a body cap. Sensor-checked before handover.
  • Included: a unit swap if the camera fails mid-shoot through no fault of yours.
  • Not included: memory cards, spare batteries and lenses on body-only hires.
  • Not included: accidental damage — assessed at repair cost against the deposit, stated on your quote upfront.

Is renting cheaper than buying at these prices?

Below roughly 100 paid shoot days a year, renting wins. Divide retail price by day rate. That's your break-even. And that calculation flatters ownership — it ignores insurance, servicing and resale loss.

BodyDay rateApprox. new priceBreak-even
Canon EOS R8₹1,800~₹1,50,000~83 days
Canon EOS R6 Mark II₹2,500~₹2,15,000~86 days
Canon EOS R5₹3,000~₹3,00,000~100 days
Nikon Z9₹4,000~₹4,70,000~118 days

Retail figures are indicative street prices. They are not quotes and they move with the market. Check with the manufacturer or an authorised dealer for current pricing.

Five budgeting mistakes we see every week

  1. Budgeting the body and forgetting the glass. A ₹1,800 body-only booking is not an ₹1,800 shoot day without a lens.
  2. Booking the flagship for a static shoot. An EOS R1 photographs a boardroom interview no better than an R8. Spend the difference on lighting.
  3. Ignoring the deposit in cash-flow planning. It comes back. But it leaves your account first. That matters when you're waiting on a client payment.
  4. Leaving a second body to the last minute. Backup bodies sell out first in wedding season. A single-body wedding is a risk you're taking on the client's behalf.
  5. Extending one day at a time. Tell us the full span at the start and we'll quote the whole thing properly.

How to get a quote

  1. Send the dates and the gear list Or just describe the shoot. We'll spec it for you.
  2. Get it in writing Itemised, tax-inclusive, deposit stated. Nothing appears later.
  3. Confirm An advance holds the camera against your dates.
  4. Collect or take delivery From our Bengaluru counter, or delivered to your set.

Day rates at G.K. Vale run from ₹800 to ₹6,000 for camera bodies.

Entry combos start at ₹800 with a lens included.

Full-frame bodies like the Canon EOS R8 and Sony a7 IV sit between ₹1,800 and ₹2,500.

Which is the cheapest camera to rent in Bangalore?

The Canon R100 combo at ₹800 per day is the cheapest.

It includes an 18–45mm lens — nothing more to source.

The Canon R50 combo at ₹1,000 is the next step up with a flip screen.

Both are popular with students, travellers and first-paid-shoot photographers.

How much does it cost to rent a Canon EOS R5 in Bangalore?

The Canon EOS R5 rents at ₹3,000 per day.

The EOS R5 Mark II is ₹3,500 per day.

Both are body-only — budget for lenses and memory cards separately.

The R5 is the most common choice for product and catalogue work in Bangalore.

What does a two-body wedding kit cost per day?

A Canon EOS R6 Mark II paired with a Sony a7 IV comes to ₹5,000 per day.

Two matched Canon EOS R6 bodies work out to ₹4,000.

Add lenses, cards and a gimbal or flash on top.

Most Bengaluru wedding shooters book two bodies. A single-body failure is not recoverable mid-ceremony.

Do camera rental prices include a lens?

Only on three models.

The Canon R100 and R50 combos include an 18–45mm lens.

The Sony a6700 includes an 18–135mm f/3.5–5.6.

Every other body is body-only.

If you don't own glass, the combo kits are usually cheaper once you total the full day.

Is there a discount for weekly or monthly rental?

Longer bookings are quoted on request.

Send the full date span in one message instead of extending day by day.

We'll quote the whole period together.

Multi-day and multi-body bookings are also easier to hold when we know the total commitment up front.

What deposit do I need to pay?

A refundable deposit applies to every booking.

It is released once the equipment is checked back in.

The exact amount depends on the value of the gear.

It is stated on your quote before you pay anything. [VERIFY — insert your standard deposit amount or percentage here.]

Are taxes included in the listed prices?

No. Listed rates are before tax.

Applicable taxes are added on the invoice at prevailing rates.

They appear as a separate line on your quote.

The total you approve is the total you pay. [VERIFY — state the exact rate you charge.]

What documents are needed to rent a camera in Bangalore?

One government photo ID — Aadhaar, passport or driving licence.

Plus a second ID or address proof.

Plus the refundable deposit.

Production houses and agencies can book against a company PO with a signed hire agreement.

Can I rent a camera for one day only?

Yes. Every rate on this page covers a 24-hour period.

One-day hires are our most common booking.

Same-day collection is possible when stock allows.

Weekend dates in wedding season book out ahead — plan accordingly.

What happens if the camera is damaged?

Normal wear is covered by us.

Accidental damage is assessed at actual repair cost and adjusted against your deposit.

The policy is printed on your quote before you pay.

If a body fails through no fault of yours during a shoot, we swap the unit.

Do you deliver, and does it cost extra?

Yes, we deliver across Bengaluru.

Delivery is charged separately based on distance.

It is quoted up front — no surprise line items.

Collection from our counter is free. [VERIFY — confirm delivery areas and charges.]

How far in advance should I book?

For weekday shoots, a day or two is usually enough.

For Saturdays between November and February, book at least a week ahead.

Wedding season clears popular full-frame bodies by mid-week.

Flagship bodies for sports and wildlife — book as soon as your dates are confirmed.

Why do some rental services not publish their prices?

Usually because rates are set per enquiry.

That is not automatically dishonest.

But it means you cannot compare options without messaging several suppliers and waiting.

Published rates let you budget a shoot in one sitting.

If a supplier won't quote a number in writing before you commit, treat that as information about how the rest of the booking will go.

Can I also rent lighting and accessories along with the camera?

Yes. You can add gimbals, tripods, wireless mics, flash kits and LED lights to the same booking.

Accessories start at ₹450 per day.

Lighting starts at ₹700 per day.

Tell us the full kit list when you enquire and we'll quote everything together.

The short version

Camera rental price in Bangalore maps to a simple grid. Below ₹1,650 is combo territory — lens included, full day covered. Between ₹1,800 and ₹2,500 are the full-frame bodies that handle most paid work in this city. Above ₹3,000 you're buying resolution for print and cropping. Above ₹4,000 you're buying autofocus tracking and burst speed for subjects that won't hold still.

The most expensive mistake is not overpaying for a body. It's budgeting for a body and forgetting the lens, the cards and the deposit. Total the whole day before you book.

Every rate on this page is live and published. Send us your dates. We'll put the full cost in writing — deposit, taxes and delivery included — before you commit.
